Sunday Night. Eve of X'Mas Eve

Wanted to go for a run this morning, but somehow i managed to sleep till 10 am. Lol.
Maybe i will go later.
It rained again this afternoon. I went to chinatown for a walk and got caught in the rain.
Ended up re tracing my steps back to Clarke Quay and took a break at Subway in The Central.
Don't like any of the shots i took this afternoon, but took this just downstairs as i was coming back home.
I like the way that the lights play out along the walkway, how it is showing the green of the metal supports.
2007 is ending soon. Looking forward to the start of another year.

Friday night gathering

Ha. Dec 21, had dinner at Ichiban at the Esplanade with my poly classmates, some of whom i haven met since graduation. Jason is back from Taiwan on leave, Ming Yao and Kim Seng is also here. Great to see them all again. With so many of us still serving NS, talking abt the army and NS stuff is unavoidable. Ha ha, and we are supposed to be on leave. Anyway, i believe that all present had a great time catching up with each other and after the dinner, we went over to Clarke Quay for desserts. Chocolate Fondue.

And for those who can't make it, hope to see you guys the next time.

Maybe next week, fila is trying to plan something for xmas maybe.

A memory lasts forever.

Goalpost On The Field

In the field, there are 2 goalpost, sometimes you will see people playing soccer on the field. When i was there today, it just happened that there was no one, and the sun is starting it descent below the horizon.

Wondering how can someone kick a ball so hard till he had to discard his insole.
Even so, thanks to him, this make a nice picture.

One Fine Evening With My Eye To The Viewfinder

There is this field near where i stay, i always get off the bus at the stop just in front of it.
Same thing today, got off the bus and saw some nice light, so i went home and grab my camera and decided to do some exploring.

There's much more to be seen, widen your eyes and your mind. =p

BTW, i haven't sent the film to the labs yet. Guess the Aust pics will only be up next week.

Last post of the Month

This is it, the last post for the month of October.
Reason 1- Flying off to Wallaby, Aust, tomorrow, i will not be back till the 1st of Nov.
Reason 2- See reason no.1

I will be bringing the MG- 1 with me, although not going to have much chance to take any picture outfield, i hope to have some pictures during the R&R or at the airport.

Out there in the wilderness, with no phone reception or anything else to disturb you, just look up into the night skies and see the stars shining brightly from light years away.
Makes you thinks, how small and insignificant you really are, but still, one try his best to do his best.

After EX WALLABY, it's ATEC stage 1. Followed by stage 2 around Feb, after that ORD in June.
2 years of my life wearing green.

'Poof', i gonna disappear. Don't worry, i will be back, this world will be a boring place without me.

Yashica MG-1

Got a Yashica MG-1 from a fellow CSer yesterday. Took it out for some testing this afternoon and had just sent
it to the photo lab. Will be collecting the prints tml and hope to post it asap. haha. Wonder how will the pictures turn out.
Never really shoot film before, guess it's sort of like life itself, not knowing how things will turn out. How the decision that
you made now will affect the end product. I like how i can sling the camera from my shoulder the whole afternoon without feeling any strain. My Olympus DSLR might be a lightweight in the DSLR world, but this is just different. And i like how i can take pictures without getting any weird looks from people as i would if i'm using a DSLR. Lol
Next step, developing my own film. Black and White. hahaha.
Will be bringing this baby to Wallaby with me, not bringing any digital gear. Bearing in mind that i'm there for training and not sightseeing.Not having any previous experience with non-digital camera and film. This is what people call baptism by fire, i guess.




This might not be a Leica( no offence to the non-Leica rangefinder lover out there),
but now i do know what Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa feel doing what they do best.
Focusing by aligning the image. Using the film advance lever(below).
Using the camera, i felt like being in a long gone era.
I could just visualise myself walking down foreign streets, geeting lost and taking photos of people and places i had never seen before.

After saying so much, just just hope the pictures taken this afternoon would not turn out to be all over expose or something.

For My Friends

For my friends who has been visiting this blog, and i don't even know.
Haha. And to those who i thought had disappeared.

Haiz, pick up the guitar after letting it gather dust for so long.
Should i learn to ride bike and get myself a Vespa. Lol.
And also a Rangefinder camera, haha, dabble in film.
Or a Holga, a Lomo- Alternative camera.
Or just get a lensbaby for my e-500.
My life so far.

Didn't Know That

So still got ppl checking in on my posts. Didn't know that, been a bit lazy and haven been posting much pictures for a while.
Guess gotta go out to hunt down some shots later. Since the weather is not that bad today.

Weird

No photos this week. Didn't go anywhere yesterday, reached home around 2340 friday night.
Well, at least got to book out on friday, went on a assault boat today, jump into the water and got myself all wet. Let me say this, it;s really not fun to jump into the water in your boots. Yucks.
Anyway, had a weird dreams last night, and finally watched Jay movie. Love the story, and the piano parts in the movie.
